End of Session Review
1. Submerging and surface dives
Why: Breath control, buoyancy, balance and movement
Goal: Jump in from the pool edge, swim to the bottom and retrieve at least one object. Resurface, swim back to the edge and climb out (independently).
2. Circle Swimming
Why: Safety
Goal: Continuous movement!
3. Freestyle
Why: Stroke Development
Goal: Swim freestyle for at least two widths of the pool with the proper arms, legs, body position and breathing and timing.
4. Breaststroke
Why: Stroke Development
Goal: Swim breaststroke for at least two widths of the pool with the proper arms, legs, body position and breathing and timing.
5. Backstroke
Why: Stroke Development
Goal: Swim backstroke for at least two widths of the pool with the proper arms, legs, body position and breathing and timing.
6. Dolphin Kick
Why: Intro to Butterfly
Goal: Swim Dolphin Kick for at least one width of the pool with the proper body motion and kick.
7. Jump, tread and climb
Why: Safety
Goal: Jump from the edge of the pool and tread water using any arm and leg combinations for at least 30 seconds then return to the edge and climb out (independently).
