Preschool and Kindergarten (Ages 3 years – 6 years)

SWIM STARS 1 and 1 Plus

In Swim Stars 1 and 1+ students will be introduced to basic skills that they continue to build on as they progress through the levels. Students will start developing good attitudes and safe practices around the water.

Swim Stars 1 Prerequisites

  • Child is 3 – 4.4 years old and able to attend class without a parent or caregiver

Swim Stars 1 Plus Prerequisites

  • Child is 4.5 – 5.9 years old and able to attend class without a parent or caregiver

SWIM STARS 2 and 2 Plus

In Swim Stars 2 and 2+ the objective is to build on the basic aquatic skills learned previously and to give students further success with fundamental aquatic skills. The skills in this level will be performed to a more advanced degree and eventually will require less assistance.

SWIM STARS 2 Prerequisites

  • Child is 3 – 4.4 years old
  • Child can independently and comfortably submerge
  • Child can independently and comfortably float on the front and back
  • Child can swim at least two body lengths independently, comfortably and without floatation

SWIMSTARS 2 Plus Prerequisites

  • Child is 4.4 – 5.9 years old
  • Child can independently and comfortably submerge
  • Child can independently and comfortably float on the front and back
  • Child can swim at least two body lengths independently, comfortably and without floatation

SWIM STARS 3 and 3 Plus

In Swim Stars 3 and 3+ we will continue to build on the skills learned in the previous levels. Students will become more proficient and will be able to swim greater distances. All the skills in this level will be performed independently or through the use of various equipment. We will be refining the elementary backstroke and introducing the breaststroke and freestyle.

SWIMSTARS 3 Prerequisites

  • Child is 3 – 4.4 years old
  • Child is very comfortable submerging, floating and swimming on the front and back without floatation
  • Child can independently take a breath while swimming
  • Child can independently roll to the back and rest while swimming

SWIMSTARS 3 Plus Prerequisites

  • Child is 4.5 – 5.9 years old
  • Child is very comfortable submerging, floating and swimming on the front and back without floatation
  • Child can independently take a breath while swimming
  • Child can independently roll to the back and rest while swimming

SWIM STARS 4 and 4 Plus

In Swim Stars 4 and 4+ the objective is to build the students confidence in the strokes learned thus far and improve on the basic aquatic skills. Students will improve their skills by swimming the strokes that were introduced in the previous level. Students will also be introduced to the backstroke, butterfly and breathing to the side.

SWIMSTARS 4 Prerequisites

  • Child is 3 – 4.4 yrs. old
  • Child is very comfortable swimming on the front and back and is ready to learn strokes

SWIMSTARS 4 Plus Prerequisites

  • Child is 4.5 – 5.9 years old
  • Child is very comfortable swimming on the front and back and is ready to learn strokes
